| The CompanyTechnology Management and Consultancy was founded in April 2005 by Paul Maloney. Also known as TMC the company specialises in independent advice on Information Systems to the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) market in the UK. Working from our base in the Nottinghamshire region of the East Midlands we can support clients all across the UK, including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The core philosophy behind the work of a TMC consultant is that I.T. is about the Information, not the Technology. That's why we are all Information Consultants despite having highly technical backgrounds. An I.T. Solution should turn data into information and then into an asset of the company. Once it is an asset a Return On Investment (ROI) can be completed on any project involving that information. Like any asset it should be kept safe and for that we provide Information Security Consultancy and Business Continuity Consultancy. We pride ourselves on our independence, we only provide consultancy and do not sell products. This allows us to work with your current systems without any fear on your part we will be trying to sell you a new one. If new equipment or software is required we work with your current supply chain but help you negotiate a good price. Like a lot of business in the world we have an active Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program that ensures we work closely with our local community to both reduce our impact and to provide support wherever possible. One of our main commitments is to continued support of the education system. Mission StatementTo provide professional consultancy that focuses on a business solution not just a technical one. The PeoplePaul Maloney![]() Paul has worked in IT Management since 1995 and has experience in Project Management, Consultancy and Business Continuity covering large national and multi-national organisations. Paul founded TMC with the vision of providing the skills of a large Corporate IT Manager to the SME organisations across the UK. These aren't necessarily technical skills and cover areas such as Governance, Compliance, Best Practice and policies. Paul believes it is key that an IT Manager has both business and social skills that allow them to work across all business units. Paul works as both Managing Director and Senior Consultant with TMC. In 2006 he became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Specialist of the Business Continuity Institute (SBCI). In 2008 Paul, after a review by his peers, was accepted as a Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI). Paul is also a Prince2 Practitioner. As the driving force behind the TMC Corporate Social Responsibility program Paul works actively with community and business organisations in the area and also with professional organisations, such as the BCI, to promote the professionalism of the industry he is a part of. He often speaks at events across the East Midlands and UK on Information Security and Business Continuity. Working on behalf of TMC Paul has developed the Secure Information Worker (SIW) concept that makes IT users aware of their responsibilities to both their employer and under legislation. The concept is delivered by a program of training (delivered by BrownStones) and consultancy. A SIW individual should be someone you can trust to process the most sensitive data.
