Overview

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was part of TMC right from the start in 2005. The founder of TMC, Paul Maloney, is a firm believer in if you think something needs fixing, help fix it. Our staff get involved in our local community, the local and national business community and in reducing our environmental impact (the famous carbon footprint).

At all times we support existing initiatives and try to use our time and resources to provide a positive contribution. Each member of staff is asked to provide either one or two days per month to aid in these activities. This can be as simple as attending a meeting in support of a group all the way up to a trip away to help with a particular project.

Details of the organisations we are involved in can be found on our Memberships page.

Community

We support communities all across the East Midlands area of the UK but mainly concentrate our activities on the area of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire.

Paul Maloney is an East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) Business Champion and a sub-committee member of the Alliance Sub-Strategic Partnership (SSP). Through the Business Champion initiative Paul supports Social Enterprises by providing coaching and mentoring advice. Working with the Alliance SSP Paul helps to ensure that Government and European funding reaches the local communities.

Business Support for the education system is one of the areas Paul Maloney has always focused TMC on. Working with Nottinghamshire Education Business Alliance (NEBA) we perform mock interviews for school pupils, offer work experience to teachers and advise on the IT Vocational Diploma. Paul also presents to school pupils about safety on the Internet on behalf of ISC2 and ChildNet.

Working with organisations such as Mansfield 2020 TMC staff provide lobbying on behalf of the local communities.

Environment

TMC are committed to reducing the environmental impact of both our company and that of our clients. Technology is a strong lever for changing environmental impact, but if wrongly used it can create new problems. TMC have an environmental policy detailing their commitment. All of our consulting has an element of environment impact assessment in it and we will advise clients if we feel environmental savings can be made with the project.

We fully support campaigns such as Switch IT Off and during the lunch breaks you'll find the majority of our PC's in sleep mode and all of them hibernating overnight.

Business

As a UK SME, TMC also have a responsibility to help protect the rights of small business owners across the UK. Working with organisations such as the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce (DNCC) TMC lobby Government at all levels to ensure fair treatment to the SME businesses who make up 97% of the employers in the UK.

Paul Maloney, the founder of TMC, feels so strongly about supporting other businesses he is currently the Regional Chairman of the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Region of the FSB and Secretary of the Mansfield and Ashfield Branch of the FSB .
